Who we are

Google

GSN works with Google Ideas as a part of their effort to aggregate former violent extremists, survivors, activists, experts, and executives united by a common mission: to counter violent extremism.

SAVE

In June 2011 Global Survivors Network members and former extremists representing myriad hate groups gathered at Google's first ever Summit on Violent Extremism (SAVE) in Dublin, Ireland. The conference convened to incite dialogue about the factors that both cause and dismantle violent extremism and how convening authorities can learn from each other to maximize the process of de-radicalization.

GSN members Carie Lemack, Tahir Wadood Malik, Gill Hicks and Febby Firmansyah-Isran were invited to participate and offer their input as survivors of terrorist attacks. One concrete result of the discussion is the creation of a GSN Survivors YouTube Channel!
