Scream Against Terrorism- October 2011 events in Pakistan

31 October 2011

Scream panel

As a part of our partnership with Scream Against Terrorism, Global Survivors Network launched a series of events at universities throughout Pakistan.

Scream workshops encourage students to reflect on the roles they can and should play in countering extremist violence, and are organized and hosted by survivors of the 2009 bombing of the Islamic University in Islamabad. The events feature survivors and activists leading lively debates and answering audience questions, as well as the screening of videos that highlight survivors' stories.

28 October - Quaid-i-Azam University
The first “Humanity verses Terrorism” seminar took place at Quaid-i-Azam and featured commentary from Mr. Nadeem Khan, a social worker and Mr. Asif Ali Tamboli, a lecturer from Bahria university.

31 October - Islamia University in Bahawalpur
Asif Ali Tamboli, a lecturer from Bahria University returned to speak to a crowd of 300 students, along with Mian Husnain Altaf, and Waaqar Khalid, the founder of Scream Against Terrorism and survivor of the 2009 bombing at the Islamic University in Islamabad.
