GSN works with the Conference of Islamic Scholars in Indonesia

13 March 2011

Pesantrens

In March 2011 Global Survivors Network partnered with the International Conference of Islamic Scholars (ICIS) to speak with students and their teachers from three Indonesian pesantrens (religious schools) about their thoughts on terrorism and what they could do to prevent future acts of terror. Screenings of Killing in the Name were organized to foster an inter-religious dialogue amongst young Indonesians about terrorism an de-radicalization. Indonesian survivors of terrorism from ASKOBI were present at each school to share their experiences and participate in the discussions.
