Survivors Speak Out
Tahir's Story
"Gul Rukh Tahir, my wife, was at work on her desk, talking to Muhammad Wahab, a colleague on October 05 2009, at 12:21:25 pm, in the United Nations World Food Program's heavily guarded office in Islamabad, when a suicide bomber blew himself up inside the account section of the building.
Gul Rukh Tahir, Wahab, Farzana, Abid Rehman, and Botan Ali, were killed in the attack four were wounded, and the office destroyed.
Gul Rukh Tahir is remembered as a always smiling person, who never gave anyone a chance to say she had not done her work. Everyone is missing her smile, but with the passage of time people will get back to their work and life will go on...but for us the survivors the void will remain.
Amman gave me an opportunity to meet others like me, and realize even pain can be used to advantage."
